The soprano Chrissa Maliamani was born in Thessaloniki where she began her vocal studies in The New Conservatory of Thessaloniki with Varvara Tsambali. She graduated on June 2008 with the grade excellent and was awarded with the golden medal of the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki.
She has attended Masterclasses with important artists, such as Aris Christofelis, Kurt Equiluz, Christa Ludwig, Kostas Paskalis, Marousa Xini, Marina Krilovic, Daphne Evangelatos, Hedwig Fassbender, René Massis and Cheryl Studer, with whom she completed her Masterstudies at the Music Academy of Würzburg, Germany.
In 2005 she was awarded with the 1st Praise at the 21st National Student Singing Competition, in 2008 the 2nd Prize at the National Singing Competition of the Opera of Thessaloniki and in 2011 the 2nd Prize at the “Armin Knab” Lied Competition.
She has interpreted the roles of Adele (J.Strauss- ‘‘Die Fledermaus’’- Kammeroper Hamburg, Theater Eduard von Winterstein), Rosina (Rossini-“Il Barbiere di Siviglia”), La Soubretta (D.Cimarosa- ‘‘L’impressario in Angustie / Der Operndirektor’’- Music Academy of Würzburg, Germany), Despina (W.A.Mozart- “Cosi fan tutte”- Music Academy of Würzburg), Zerbinetta (R.Strauss- “Ariadne auf Naxos”-Music Academy of Würzburg), Königin der Nacht (W.A.Mozart-“Die Zauberflöte”-Kammeroper Hamburg), Taumännchen (E.Humperdink- “Hänsel und Gretel”- Municipal Theatre of Kalamaria,Thessaloniki), Blonde (W.A.Mozart- “Die Entführung aus dem Serail”- Opera of Thessaloniki), Die Kluge (C.Orff -“Die Kluge”- Opera of Thessaloniki), Sacerdotessa (G.Verdi- “Aida”- Opera of Thessaloniki) and Fanny (G.Rossini- “La cambiale di matrimonio” - Municipal Theatre of Korfu/ Kennedy Theatre, Fasano, Italy).
In 2007 she made a recording for the Dance-Theatre ''Mystify'' in original music from Julien Tarride for the National Theatre of Northern Greece. She appeared in concert as a soloist with the works “2nd Symphony” by G.Mahler, “Gloria” by A.Vivaldi, the cantatas No 51 “Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen” and No 211 “Schweigt stille,plaudert nicht” by J.S.Bach, ''Frühlingsstimmenwaltzer'' by J.Strauss, “Des Heilands letzte Stunden" by L.Spohr, "Ein deutsches Requiem" by J.Brahms, "Lobgesang" by F.Mendelssohn and "Waisenhaus Mass" by W.A.Mozart.
During the Seasons 2012/13 and 2013/14 Chrissa Maliamani joined the ensemble of the Plauen-Zwickau Theatre in Germany where she interpreted roles such as Graziella (D.Glanert- "Joseph Süss"), Frasquita (G.Bizet- "Carmen"), Belotte (L.Fall- "Madame Pompadour"), Daisy Parker (P.Abraham- “Ball im Savoy''), Despina (W.A.Mozart- “Cosi fan tutte", Comtesse Stasi (E.Kalman- “Die Csárdásfürstin", Ännchen (C.M.Weber- “Der Freischütz"), Prinzessin Anna (J.Vinje - “Prinzessin Anna") and Ein junger Hirt (R.Wagner- “Tannhäuser").
In October 2014 Chrissa made her debut with the role of Lucia di Lammermoor by G.Donizetti in the Theatre of Plauen-Zwickau receiving great acclaim from the critics. Her appearances for the season '15-'16 included works such as Carmina Burana, and Lucia di Lammermoor. In spring 2017 Chrissa successfully debuted the role of Leila from Bizet's ''Les Pêcheurs des perles'' and in autumn 2017 she sang the role of Caterina from Coccia΄s "Caterina di Guisa", a work performed worldwide in it΄s original version after almost 200 years. In spring 2018 followed the debut of Pamina in Mozart's" Die Zauberflöte" in the Greek National Opera and in summer 2018 she joined again the Greek national Opera to sing Frasquita in the Odeon of Herodus Atticus Theater. In December 2018 she interpreted the role of Eurydice in Offenbach's Orpheus in der Unterwelt. In spring 2019 Chrissa made another debut at the Greek National Opera with the role of Susanna in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro",followed by the role of Bety in a very rare presentation of the greek operetta "`The princess of Sasson'.
In the season 2019-2020 Chrissa made her debut with Thomas Ades' "Powder her face" performed for the first time in Greece, with the role of the Maid at the Alternative Stage of the GNO. She then sang the role of Adele at the Megaron in Thessaloniki and in spring 2020 she was about to interprete the role of the Papess Joan , a world Opera Premiere with music by Yiorgos Vassilandonakis, celebrating the 80 years of the Greek National Opera, when the Corona Pandemie burst out.
Continuing her collaboration with the GNO she sang Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni at a staging in cooperation with the Göteborg Opera and the Royal Danish Opera.
A new debut found place in July 2022, that of Violetta in Verdi's ''La traviata'', in a remixed version by Moritz Eggert.
In the season 22/23 Chrissa interpreted the leading soprano role Vivika, in the most famous greek operetta *O Vaftistikos* and the role of Sophie J/Massenet's Werther. The current season began with the role of Betty in Les eclairs from P.Hersant in the second staging of the opera in the world after the opera Comique and followed by Pamina with the Greek ntional Orchestra.
You can currently enjoy a documentary by Aris Christofellis about the unknown repertoire of Maria Callas in which Chrissa is interpreting among others the famous Ave Maria and the soprano aria from Rossini's Stabat Mater, in GNOTV.
